Without this happy statement , Ralph ’s biliousness and Alice ’s needling would have been a portrait of a sad , churning marriage ceremony . It make the banter seem less significant when we recognise that deep down , the couple really does love each other , express that all of the other stuff is n’t that authoritative after all , so relax and laugh a little .
